We are a member of the Good Garage Scheme network which is a national network of independent garages. Each garage is well established in its own right and aims to keep its premises neat and tidy including uniforms and equipment. We are an independently owned business with friendly staff who are trained to carry out a full service meeting all your mechanical requirements. We are regularly audited to make sure that the standards required are maintained.
Does your car need a service?
Most modern cars only need a service once a year, but older cars require a service once every six months. The manufacturer's service handbook will set what is best for your car. The type of service you need will also be affected by how you use your car. For example, lots of short journeys where the engine does not have a chance to warm up properly will probably mean more frequent oil and filter changes. If you have running faults or need repairs, please ask to speak to a mechanic or technician about the problem. Explain the problem in as much detail as you can. If you can, include when the problem occurs for example only when the engine is cold, or after the vehicle has been left standing.
What should you expect from a car service?
When organising a car service, it's important that you establish what the service includes. Some garages will change only your oil filter, others will carry out a full service. A good garage will follow a service checklist and give you a copy of that completed checklist as confirmation of a job well done. Good Garage Scheme members carry out your service incorporating the Industry Standard Service Checklist.
What if my car is under warranty?
With changes in European legislation, it is possible to have your car serviced at an independent garage without invalidating your manufacturer's warranty.
Brakes
We will carry out a full brake check and report.
Brake fluid is checked as part of our routine servicing.
We use high quality parts that are under warranty.
The examination includes the digital measurement of wear on brake pads, shoes, brake discs and drums against the manufacturer's specifications.
The aim is to provide the best possible advice to help you restore the condition and efficiency of your braking system to as near the manufacturer's original specification as possible.
Brake replacement is carried out where necessary.
Air conditioning
What if your air conditioning system works, but it isn't as cold as it used to be. We provide a complete air conditioning service.
This includes:
Refrigerant recovery
Evacuating air and moisture from the system
A system leak check
Recharging with refrigerant and adding fresh oil as necessary
Pollen filter inspection and replacement
Anti-fungal treatment.
A two year service interval is recommended. We are fully trained and certified.
Mechanical Repairs
If you have a problem with your car, no matter how small you think the problem is, please feel free to pop in or give us a call.
We recommend that cam belts require periodic replacement. We carry out minor repairs such as replacing bulbs, batteries and wiper blades, replacing exhausts, radiators, steering and suspension components and clutches. We will deal with tow bars too.
